In the valleys surrounding the Bonifato Mountain, the story of Alcamo began more than 3000 years ago. This documentary travels through the long path from prehistory to the 1800`s, showing the images of one of the biggest necropolis of the pre-protohistoric ages of western Sicily, as well as the prehistoric findings of Alcamo, for the first time ever.

From the castles to the last traces of the fourteenth century architecture, from the rural courtyerds to the churches, to the finding of the image of "Mary holding her Child", adored as "Maria Santissima dei Miracoli" (Blessed Mary of Wonders), the documentary enfolds through the description of most of the monumental and artistic works of Alcamo, and it describes their "cohabitation" with most recent wonders: the evocative remains of the Annunziata church, the imposing Castle of the Counts of Modica, the sparkling baroque of the churches, the prestigious works beheld within them, created by the illustrious hands of artists such as Antonello Gagini, Pietro Novelli, Guglielmo Borremanse, Giacomo Serpotta.

This documentary is a journey through history and art, as well as an invitation for all habitants of Alcamo to respect and preserve this patrimony, and to rediscover the pleasure of loving Alcamo through the consciousness of their origins.

The territory of Trapani has numerous characteristics tied one to the other that constitute the same spirit of this province. Ecology, traditions, architecture, beaches, gastronomy, archaeology, mystery, history, adventure, handicraft, culture represent a single chain connecting all the centers and all people.

The monumental, artistic and archaeological patrimony of this earth is immense. Prehistoric coves, rests of mysterious people, Punic locations, Byzantine, Arab, Norman, Baroque, Renaissance and modern architecture. A sweet, wild, gorgeous nature surronds the human work.

Beautifulst gulfs, golden beaches, wild water reefs, course, sweet valleys, imposing mountains, lacustrine sites, natural reservoirs, salt magical yields from the games of the sun, volcanic islands.

The only true defect of the province of Trapani is that it does not enter all in a suitcase."

The authors collected in this volume the genuine soul of this splendid location, along with beautifulst pictures and a lot of useful information such as timetables, lodges, restaurants, stores and a calendar for events covering each month of the year.
